Personal offers traffic update through 3G mobile TV
The Argentine operator Personal, jointly with the Pay-TV news channel C5N launched a new service that enables users to receive traffic updates in their cell phones through video streaming. C5N's cameras located in the main Buenos Aires accesses are utilized.
The operator's clients must send a text message with the word "traffic" to 8726. In turn, users receive a link that enables them to access to all relevant images. Additionally, clients can request the reception of traffic alerts through SMS. Video streaming service amount to USD 0,50 per 24 hours, and SMS alerts are offered at USD 0,25. If both services are hired, its value amounts to USD 0,37 per day.
Both proposals are exclusive for Personal clients who have compatible telephones and have active SMS and Wap services. C5N cameras show 12 important avenues and crossroads in Buenos Aires. SMS alerts add information of other avenues classified per zone. Personal records 15,3 million clients in the country. Telecom Argentina is its main shareholder.
