Ghana has been chosen as the site for Africa’s first Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Broadcasting Academy. This was revealed today in a statement by Mrs Yvonne Osei-Tutu, Country Manager of NGB, Next Generation Broadcasting Ghana.
As Ghana prepares to bridge the digital divide with its digital migration of television from its present analogue technology, Next Generation Broadcasting (NBG), partner of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), continues to provide the necessary support for a smooth implementation of the migration process. As part of this, Ghana will host Africa’s first ever Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Academy.
The academy, expected to be functional by the end of the year, is to ensure that the necessary skills and training are given to Ghanaians to facilitate a smooth transition. Mrs Osei Tutu re-affirmed NGB’s commitment to invest more than US$30 million in Ghana over the next few years.
