Brazil's largest broadcaster, TV Globo, has signed its first nationwide deals with state broadcaster China Central TV Network (CCTV).
The deal includes the 1997 series Woman, about life in a medical clinic, as well as the 2003 period miniseries Seven Women, set in southern Brazil. Both series will air on CCTV-8, the pubcaster's main foreign drama channel.
The deals were closed in a three-way agreement that also included Liberty Global's London-based international TV provider Chello Zone, which licenses and operates a longstanding primetime programming block on CCTV-8.
TV Globo has previously sold dramas and documentary series to both regional broadcasters and local distributors in China, but these are its first nationwide deals with CCTV.
