Telekom Slovenije has posted generally disappointing results for the first half of this year, with its best performance being reserved for foreign markets rather than Slovenia.
Although the telco saw its IPTV subscriber total in Slovenia rise by 19% year-on-year to 113,088, its share of the IPTV sector fell by 1.4 percentage points to 61.4%. Similarly, its fixed broadband connection total rose by 1% year-on-year to 212,131, while its market share fell by three percentage points to 45.2%.
However, Kosovo saw impressive growth in the digital cable service operated by Telekom Slovenije’s Ipko, which ended Q2 with 51,000 subscribers.
On the other hand, no figures were provided for Aneks, the company’s operation in Bosnia & Herzegovina, which launched a digital TV service in February this year.
Although Telekom Slovenije posted a loss of €633,000 in Q1 this year, its performance improved in the second and the company made a profit of €4.3 million in H1.
Operational revenues in H1 amounted to €414.3 million, or 1% more than in the same period in 2009, with the best performance being outside Slovenia, especially in Kosovo.
