Syfy Gears Up For Branded Apparel, Accessories Line
Teams With Her Universe On Consumer Products Collection

Syfy will launch a branded collection of apparel and accessories for its burgeoning base of female fans.
Syfy Ventures, the network's portfolio of businesses and joint ventures, has forged an agreement with Her Universe, a leader in female genre merchandise, to sell goods under the Syfy Gear banner. Deal terms were not disclosed.
The Syfy Gear/Her Universe collection will include original designs that reflect the service's commitment to engaging the imagination, as well as show-specific merchandise from such series as Caprica, Eureka, Battlestar Galactica, Destination Truth, Ghost Hunters International, Ghost Hunters Academy and Warehouse 13.
Items to be sold include apparel and accessories as well as gifts and novelties and will be available at both Syfy.com and Heruniverseshop.com. Throughout 2011, merchandise will be available at conventions around the country including San Diego Comic Con. Beginning in 2012, merchandise will be available through national retail partners.
"This deal with Her Universe is especially exciting as Syfy's audience continues to expand and become more gender balanced," said Alan Seiffert, senior vice president, Syfy Ventures, in announcing the collection. "Her Universe has tapped into exactly what our female fans are looking for in cool genre apparel, and Syfy is uniquely positioned as a brand to partner on creating innovative collections in the space."
"Today, close to half of all sci-fi fans are women," noted Ashley Eckstein, founder of Her Universe. "I created Her Universe to produce merchandise for this growing number to of female fans. I am so excited to now expand our brand with Syfy Ventures create a special collection that reflects the creativity and imagination of their eager female audience."
