Gianluigi Donnarumma (16 year old) is an Italian professional footballer who plays for Italian Serie A club Milan and the Italy U-21 national team as a goalkeeper.
Milan
Donnarumma was promoted to Milan's first team by new manager Siniša Mihajlović as third-choice goalkeeper. He was amongst the squad for the pre-season tour of China in July 2015, where Milan was set to face Inter and Real Madrid in the 2015 International Champions Cup.[2] He made his debut against the latter on 30 July by replacing Diego López in the 72nd minute, keeping a clean-sheet for the rest of the match, but was one of two Milan players to miss his penalty shootout attempt in an eventual 10–9 loss. On 25 October 2015, Donnarumma made his competitive debut, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in a 2–1 Serie A win against Sassuolo at the San Siro. He was played in favour of Diego López after three matches without a win,[4] and became the youngest goalkeeper ever to start a match in Italy's top division at the age of 16 years 8 months.[5] He was praised for his performance with head coach Mihajlović calling him "the future of Italian football."[6] He kept his first clean sheet three days later against Chievo Verona in a 1–0 win. On 8 November, Donnarumma was praised by international media for his fourth appearance, in which he made crucial saves to earn a goalless home draw against Atalanta, a match in which the visitors were dominant; he was named man of the match.
