Intel: Master Key HDCP is broken

Master Key HDCP prolomenIntel confirmed that the code is located on the Internet in recent days, is the main key HDCP standard developed by Intel and used to reproduce the equipment authorized copyrighted content.
"It can be used to generate valid keys, which are compatible with the protocol High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection," said company spokesman Tom Waldrop Intel.
HDCP is used in set top boxes, DVD players, Blu-ray and other facilities for encoding audio or video content. Recently, on one website found code that should be called master key HDCP. Waldrop said he did not know who wrote the post and how he managed to get the code.
The master key can produce their own equipment which reproduces copyrighted content without paying license fees. Waldrop said it is not so easy, because the technology must be introduced into the system (CIPA). In practice it is very difficult and expensive.
Intel will try to thwart any attempts of unauthorized production facilities.
