Virgin Media subscribers learn of new UKTV programming
Monday, October 18th 2010
Body of Proof and a documentary about a Brighton cake shop are among UKTV's new acquisitions and commissions.
Virgin Media subscribers have been given details of the new programmes available for them to watch on UKTV's digital channels.
UKTV, a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Virgin Media, controls a number of TV stations, including Alibi, Dave, Eden and Really.
The broadcaster has announced its new acquisitions and commissions for the winter 2010 to spring 2011 period, with ten new series set to be screened on its various channels.
Among these new arrivals to UKTV is ABC Studios' Body of Proof, a forensic crime drama starring Dana Delaney of Desperate Housewives as medical examiner Dr Megan Hunt.
Meanwhile, Good Food is launching Chocckywoccydooda, a documentary focusing on a Brighton cake shop that counts Madonna as one of its clients.
The future of UKTV has been a cause of much speculation of late, with a report in the Guardian recently claiming the likes of ITV and Discovery Networks could be interested in acquiring Virgin Media's stake in the company.
