Celebrated science fiction novelist Philip K Dick's The Man in the High Castle is to be adapted by the BBC and coproduced by Ridley Scott.
The BBC has hired British playwright and screenwriter Howard Brenton (The Churchill Play, Spooks) to create a 4x60’ miniseries for BBC1.
The project is to be coproduced by Ridley and Tony Scott’s company Scott Free Films, Headline Pictures and Electric Shepherd Productions, the production arm of the Philip K Dick estate.
FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) and the BBC are co-developing the series, with FME retaining international distribution rights. The project marks Scott's first use of with Philip K Dick material since his iconic 1982 film Blade Runner.
