BBCW launches new Cbeebies website

Digital TVBBC Worldwide has relaunched the international channel website for pre-school property CBeebies with a new underwater theme.
The relaunch of www.CBeebies.com marks the first of Worldwide's branded channel sites to be refreshed as part of a wider strategy to improve the user experience.
The CBeebies site will offer "geo-targeted content" in the key territories, including South Africa, Asia, and Australia, as well as local language content for Latin America and Poland.
The homepage is designed as a submarine housing all video content (including full length episodes of some shows), as well as programme promos and an options carousel.
All content is presented by genre and users can access material on their favourite programmes, including Penelope k, Waybuloo, Teletubbies, In The Night Garden, 3rd & Bird and Boogie Beebies.
The homepage also includes sections titled 'Make & Colour', 'Song Time', 'Story Time', 'Watch & Listen', 'Play Games', and 'Shows'.
In the site's 'Grown Ups' section, there are articles from educational experts explaining how CBeebies programmes can help young children in their development.
"Catchy tunes are among the favourite elements of many CBeebies programmes and with the new 'Song Time' feature on the website, children have their own jukebox of musical favourites to sing along with," explained Becky Driver, vice president of marketing for BBC Worldwide channels.
"For our budding artists, the 'Make and Colour' section allows pre-schoolers to get colouring with online brushes, pencils or markers and then print-off their finished masterpieces."
Henrietta Hurford-Jones, Worldwide's director of investment - Cbeebies, added: "I am extremely impressed with the new site and am encouraging parents and carers to visit its pages to experience for themselves the first-class features and environment that www.CBeebies.com has to offer our younger audiences."
Following the CBeebies site launch, Worldwide plans to refresh the international channel websites for BBC HD, BBC Entertainment, BBC Lifestyle and BBC Knowledge over the coming months.
