Sky 3D lauded by David Haye
Friday, October 1st 2010
David Haye has welcomed the news that his fight with Audley Harrison will be broadcast on Sky 3D.
Heavyweight boxer David Haye has argued that Sky's decision to screen his upcoming fight with Audley Harrison in 3D means fans can be more involved in the action than ever.
The broadcaster has confirmed that WBA world champion Haye's clash with Olympic gold medallist Harrison, which is taking place on November 13th 2010, will be the first live title fight to be shown in 3D.
Although Sky's digital TV customers will have the opportunity to enjoy the bout in 3D, Haye claimed there is nothing three-dimensional about his opponent.
He described the announcement as great news for boxing fans in Britain, adding: "I can assure everybody that watches the fight in 3D that, at some point during the fight, Audley Harrison will land on your lap in a crumpled heap."
Sky 3D - Europe's first in-home 3D channel - launched today (October 1st), with the highlights of its opening weekend including the Ryder Cup golf clash between Europe and the US.
