Youth
Jean-Luc Delarue was born in Paris on the 24th of June 1964. His mother was an English teacher. His father, Jean-Claude Delarue, was an American Civilization teacher.
In 1986, he enters the DDB agency as a redactor.
Radio Career
He first tries radio hosting on ad show in Radio Ark En Ciel in Paris.
In 1987, he enters Europe 1 where he stays up until 1995. he hosts the Top 50 along with Olivier Dorangeon from summer 1988.
During the year 1991-1992, every afternoons, he hosts a bulletin called Mon œil (My eye), which he continues in 1994 in the morning. The radio gained 300 000 listeners.
Television Career
Discovered by Childéric Muller and Patrice Blanc-Francard, he first tries television in 1986 and starts in the TV show "Système6", hosted by Childéric on TV6 before hosting his own show "Une page de pub" (a bit of ad) which he co-hosts with Olivier Dorangeon on the same channel until February 1987.
In 1989, after hosting "Enfants du rock" (children of Rock) on Antenne 2 (now France2), he enters Canal+.
In 1990, he is a journalist in Michel Denisot's show "Demain" (tomorrow) and hosts the TV game scrupules alongside Isabelle Giordano. From 1991, he becomes the leader of the "La Grande Famille" (the big familly), a daily shows he hosts and produces during three years. In 1994, he leaves Canal+ to join France 2 (renamed antenne 2), and at the same time creates his own producing company "Réservoir Prod" which produces his most famous tv show "Ça se discute". This show ended on the 24th of June 2009, after 15 years of success. During his shows, he wore a very visible earphone. The nicknamed « Earphone man» gave this reason8 : « I used visible earphones to shows that a show was a team work, and that it didn't rely on the host.» In 1998, He produces and host a new talk-show, "Jour après jour" (days after days).Jour après jour wins a 7 d'or (golden seven, TV equivalent of Oscars in France) in 2001. In 1999, Réservoir Prod produces a Talk-show on France 3 hosted by Évelyne Thomas, "C'est mon choix" (That's my choice). Even with its large success, the shows ends during summer 2004 because of disagrement between the producers and the host. on the 31rh december 1999, he hosts during 24 hours on France 2 for the 2000 new year.
In October 2000, Jean-Luc Delarue receives a 7 d'or for his show "Ça se discute". En 2003, le Groupe Réservoir (Réservoir Prod et Carson Prod) emploie plus de 250 permanents. Il est le premier producteur indépendant de flux français (hors sport et information) avec, pour 2002, 14 heures de productions hebdomadaires. Déjà présent dans les magazines de société (Réservoir Prod), dans le divertissement (Carson Prod), le Groupe Réservoir se lance dans le jeu avec la filiale Hoboken Prod avec History tous les jours d'été sur France 3 à 19 h 55, ainsi que Trivial Pursuit, tous les jours d'été sur France 2 à 19 h 5. En 2003 il produit le talk-show Scrupules avec Carole Rousseau sur TF1. Il produit sur Canal+ La vie en clair (de septembre 2003 à juin 2004) En 2004, il doit cesser plusieurs émissions : C'est mon choix, et par manque d'audience : Stars à domicile, Scrupules, La Vie en clair9.
In 2006, he launches a new TV show, called "Toute une histoire" (What a story!). Jean-Luc Delarue he discovers Stéphane Plaza and launches, on M6 "Recherche appartement ou maison" (Looking for an appartment or a house) in février 2006 and then "Maison à vendre" (House for sale) in december 2007. Jean-Luc Delarue, with 40 000 € of monthly wage (en 200810) and over 30 millions euros of properties (en 200511), he becomes the most paid host of French televison. In septembre 2010,because his cocaine problems are being broadcasted, he takes a break from mediatic sight and TV appearance. His TV show "Toute une histoire" which he was hosting daily was then being hosted by Sophie Davant.[1] In septembre 2011, he comes back on TV (on France 2) with a new show : "Réunion de famille" (familly reunion)12,13. The show, due to Delarue's medical problems and low audience, was canceled.
Personal life

Family life
In October 2006, Delarue becomes the father of his son, Jean Delarue-Bost from his relationship with Élisabeth Bost. He breaks up with Élisabeth in 2009. In November 2009, he starts a relationship with Inès Sastre. They break up in March 201020 On the 12th of May 2012, he maries Anissa Khel.
Legal Incidents
On the 13th of February 2007, on the Paris-Johannesburg flight, Jean-Luc Delarue has an « agressif and hurting behaviour towards flight personel and passengers» under the influence of Alcohol and medicine (Sleeping tablets). He was accused of insulting, biting, slapping a steward and touching an hostess's breasts 23.The personnel had to handcuff him to prevent any other incidents during the flight.He was condemned to three months of "citizenship training" on his return to France on the 20th of February.25.[2]
During the Crystal Globes (French press and art awards) ceremony of 2009, he made a joke to the french writer Yamina Benguigui. After he gave her to globe for the best documentary on TV, he asked her : « Do you want me to hold your globe... or your globeS ? ». Yamina Benguigui asked Delarue to make public apologies for this incident. After this incident, France Télévision (France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5 and France ô) Board of management deprive him from live shows.[3]
on the 14th of september 2010 he was arrested for a drug case. He appears in this case as an important cocaine user (over 3000 euros spent a month).27,28. He declares his addiction to the public on the evening of his arrest in the recording of the daily "Toute une histoire" 29. The day after France Télévision suspends him for an undecided amount of time from the group30.His trial, initially planned during the 2012 summer, was postponed to February 2013 due to Delarue's medical problems.31. All legal pursuits were cancelled after his death on the 24th of August 2012.[4]
Death
On the 2th of December 2011, Delarue declares, during a press conference at the France Télévision HQ, his stomach and peritoneum cancer, which he was to declare after a paprazzi robbed his medical file and before the thief sold the information to the press.[5]
Jean-Luc Delarue died of his stomach and peritoneum cancer on the 23 August 2012 at the age of 48.[6] A special tribute show was broadcasted on the 28th of August on France 2, and hosted by Sophie Davant, the host of his popular show, "Toute une histoire".[7] Numbers of french personalities (Mostly TV personalities) like hosts Sophie Davant, Michel Drucker Christophe Dechavanne or Marc-Olivier Fogiel.
