The Polish thematic channel operator Kino Polska TV plans to launch a new VOD service this year.
According to board member Boguslaw Kisielewski, it will be known as FilmboxLive and made available on both mobile devices and connected TVs.
He added that the company’s plans for this year also include widening the technical reach of Kino Polska Muzyka.
Launched last May and billed as Poland’s first music-film channel, it already had nearly 2.5 million active subscribers at the end of last year.
Kino Polska TV also saw a four-fold increase in subscribers to its FilmBox Premium in 2011, up from 246,000 to 1.2 million.
Its revenues from sales in 2011 amounted to PLN85 million (€20.6 million), while net profit, at PLN8.4 million, was around 20% lower than a year earlier.
