  • Merlin udev automount rules



    Da der automount Daemon externe USB Devices nur nach /autofs mountet, muß man sich mit manuellen Einträgen in der fstab behelfen, wenn man z.B. die picons unter /media/blabla braucht.

    Um das in Zukunft zu vermeiden habe ich udev rules geschrieben die alle externen USB Devices unter ihrem Label Namen automatisch im Ordner /media mounten. Beim Abziehen des Device wird der erstellte Ordner mit dem Labelnamen automatisch wieder entfernt. Wenn das Device kein Label hat wird ein Ordner usb-sdXY erstellt.

    Wenn das Device mit dem Device Manager neu partitioniert/formatiert wurde, steckt bitte das Device aus/ein damit es neu erkannt wird.

    Vor der Installation müssen natürlich evtl. bestehende fstab Einträge gelöscht werden, weiterhin empfehle ich im Ordner /media die Verzeichnisse zu löschen die genauso heißen wie die Label eurer Devices (z.B. cf, mmc1, usb).

    Wer das gp3 am laufen hat, sollte diese udev rukes NICHT installieren...

    Zur Installation das ipk nach /tmp kopieren und über Telnet "opkg install /tmp/*.ipk" ausführen, danach neu booten.
    Zur Deinstallation "opkg remove merlin-automount-rules" ausführen.

    Mein Dank geht an Oldboke, der wie immer unermüdlich getestet hat...


    Since the automount daemon, autofs mount external USB devices only after /, one has to make do with manual entries in the fstab, if you eg the picon need to / media / blah.

    In order to avoid future udev rules I've written all the external USB devices under their label names automatically in the / media mount. When you unplug the device the folders created with the label name is automatically removed. If the device has no label is a folder usb sdXY created.

    If the device has been formatted with the Device Manager repartitioned /, use the device plugged on / off so that it is newly recognized.

    Before you begin, of course, be deleted any existing fstab entries, I still recommend the folder / media to delete the directories the same name as the label of your devices (cf eg, MMC1, usb).

    Anyone who has run on gp3 should install this udev rukes NOT ...

    To install the ipk to / tmp copy and run on telnet "opkg install / tmp / *. ipk", then reboot.
    To uninstall "opkg remove Merlin automount rules" run.
