BroadcastingTomasz Schafernaker, the BBC weatherman recently caught giving a one-finger salute live on air, could reportedly be about to move to BBC Radio 5 Live.
Schafernaker was one of three BBC television weather forecasters forced into a backroom role as part of a shakeup at the Met Office.
According to The Guardian, the controversial presenter is now close to joining Nicky Campbell and Shelagh Fogarty on the 5 Live breakfast show.
The station is understood to be currently reviewing how weather bulletins are presented on the three-hour morning programme.
Schafernaker has seen his profile soar after being caught up in a series of on-air gaffes, including his obscene gesture to BBC News Channel anchor Simon McCoy in August.
In June, he also called the Glastonbury music festival site "quite a muddy sh**e" while presenting the weather on BBC Radio 4.
Station bosses at Radio 5 Live are thought to be keen to sign up Schafernaker and keep his own particular presenting style in the public eye.
