Comstar-UTS has received permission from Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to transfer the assets of the cable operator Multiregion to its Comstar-Regions group.
According to RBD Daily, the move should help Comstar-UTS secure an additional $40 million (€29.2 million) in revenue next year. However, it also runs the risk of reducing the average monthly subscription fee charged by the company, and hence ARPU.
Comstar-UTS recently acquired Multiregion’s assets for a fee of $218 million.
Separately, Comstar-Regions has begun to distribute Disney Channel on cable TV in 24 regions of Russia.
