Envivio Looks Beyond the Set-Top Box with New Multi-Screen Video Solution

Envivio is set to unveil a multi-screen video processing solution, which aims to provide a three-screen video headend to three of the five largest cable MSOs in the United States, the company announced
The Solution will be based on Envivo’s existing 4Caster C4 encoding and transcoding multi-screen platform, which allows cable companies to convert content for IP-based video deliverys to mobile, PC and TV screens from a single integrated platform.
Envivo’s solution capabilities include: Envivio Extreme H.264 compression for delivering high-quality HD video below 4 Mbps; a network-based on-demand solution to turn any content recorded by a subscriber into assets for subsequent delivery to the subscriber’s mobile and PC screens; and an offline file-to-file workflow that will incorporate a comprehensive feature set for traditional video-on-demand content preparation.
