digg Share Indian telco BSNL has launched Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) services in the city of Vadodara (Gujarat state), according to reports in local newspaper The Financial Express.
The reports quote Ramakant Sharma, General Manager of Vadodara circle at the telco, as stating that the FTTH network is based on GPON technology, with a single optical fibre serving 32 customers with downstream speeds of 2.5 Gbps and upstream speeds of 1.25 Gbps.
The telco reportedly plans to use the network to deliver broadband services of up to 100 Mbps, IPTV, interactive gaming, conferencing and voice services in the city.
