A leading Saudi newspaper has slammed the kingdom’s state-run television channel for airing a controversial advertisement for a sex-enhancing pill. Kabar Arabic language claims the ad has sparked "resentment and dismay among a large segment of viewers,” adding that it has received several complaints from angry viewers.
"With a meaningful smile on her face, the wife tells her husband after he took the pill: 'the children have completed their homework, don’t forget yours.' How can an official media organ, which is trusted by Saudi families, show this," the paper writes. Saudi Arabia is one of the Middle East’s most conservative nations, with its broadcasts coming under intense scrutiny for anything deemed offensive.
