Hungary ended the second quarter with 825,513 Cable internet subscribers, according to data published by the country’s Statistical Office (KSH).
The xDSL subscriber total meanwhile amounted to 789,817, and together they accounted for 54% of total internet subscriptions, numbering 3 million, in Hungary.
The take-up of cable internet is growing in Hungary – the Q2 2009 figure amounted to 746,898 – while xDSL, at 895,327 in Q2 2009, is falling. However, net sales of xDSL services are still considerably higher than those for cable internet.
In Q2 they amounted to HUF12,429 million (€43.9 million) for the former and HUF9,302 million for the latter.
