Semp Toshiba launches its new one-seg cell phone in Brazil
The Japanese manufacturer Semp Toshiba launched its CTV 35D DTV device with Dual Chip and Digital TV technology, an exclusive combination for such market. The cell phone enables users to tune DTT free-to-air channel programming free-of-charge in coverage areas. Its price would amount to USD 350. Together with Samsung, Semp Toshiba has been one of the first companies to offer one-seg devices in such country.
With the arrival of CTV35D, the company "steps as a pioneer in the launching of new technologies", stated Caio Ortiz, Semp Toshiba Marketing and Sales VP. The device weighs 85 grams and is fitted with a battery that bears 170 standby and 4 conversation hours. Additionally, it offers Bluetooth, MP3 player and 8 Gb memory card entry, among other functions.
In addition to one-seg Digital TV devices, Semp Toshiba was one of the first companies in lauching dual chip (a technology that enables the use of two chips of the same operator or different companies, thus capturing promotional fees of each of them) touchscreen cell phones.
