OSN changes - official statement

As exclusively reported by Digital Broadcast last week, David Butorac is the new CEO of Orbit Showtime Network (OSN).
Media Group (PMG), the company operating OSN, has officially announced the appointment with immediate effect. An international television industry veteran, Butorac brings a wealth of experience to OSN gained over a 30 -year career in some of the world's most successful broadcasting and multi-channel Television companies.
His career to date has included the positions of head of operations and station manager at BSkyB, the UK's largest media company, group chief operating officer at Astro, Malaysia's largest broadcasting and cross-media company, as well as president at the News Corporation's Star TV in Hong Kong. Most recently, Butorac was managing director of WIN Corporation, Australia's largest regional cross-media company.
Mr. Faisal Al Ayyar, chairman of the board at PMG said: "We are delighted to have David join OSN as our new CEO. We feel OSN is now uniquely poised to experience substantial growth and we are delighted that David is bringing his global experience to lead our company into its next phase.”
At the same time OSN announced that outgoing CEO, Marc-Antoine d’Halluin, has stepped down from his role a just over a year after the merger between Showtime Arabia and Orbit Communications Company was closed in August 2009.
As initially agreed with the shareholders, d’Halluin led the first phase of integration of the two companies, the launch of the OSN brand and platform on February 1st and the successful launch of the region’s first bouquet of High Definition channels and HD decoders on May 1st.
Commenting on this evolution, Mr. Faisal Al Ayyar, said: “I want to thank Marc-Antoine for his successful work in shaping a very promising merger between Showtime and Orbit. OSN is now clearly established as the region’s leading Pay TV platform with its 7 exclusive Hollywood studio output deals, its 80 exclusive premium channels and the first and only High Definition bouquet.”
