Consumers are not benefiting from the disagreement between BT and Virgin Media, it has been argued.
The director of Eclipse Internet has called for BT and Virgin Media to bring their war of words over fibre optic broadband to an end.
At last week's Westminster eForum, Virgin Media's broadband chief Duncan Higgins criticised its rival for deploying super-fast broadband in areas already covered by the Virgin network.
Strategy director at BT Liv Garfield refuted this statement, exclaiming "not true" throughout the speech.
Clodagh Murphy of Eclipse Internet has now had her say on the spat, remarking it makes "great reading" to see the two broadband giants arguing in this manner, but that the disagreement is ultimately of little benefit to consumers.
She claimed the public is getting "sick and tired of the major internet service providers (ISPs) slugging it out" over which company rolled out the technology first.
"What's important to customers is getting proactive information from their ISP around how they can get the most out of their broadband usage limits," Ms Murphy insisted.
