Former Discovery Networks Topper Joins Akoo Social Television

CHICAGO: Akoo International has appointed William Campbell III, who previously served as president of Discovery Networks, to the role of president for Akoo Social Television.
Campbell will oversee programming, consumer marketing, business development and ad sales for Akoo, which delivers interactive music Television programming and advertising to more than 90 million consumers each month. Previously, Campbell was the president of Discovery Networks, from 2002 to 2007. He was also the executive VP at CBS Entertainment and was director of current programming at ABC Entertainment and senior VP for drama development at Warner Bros. Television.
"Billy is a visionary leader, with a proven track record of developing engaging programming and innovative marketing solutions for brand advertisers," said founding chairman and CEO of Akoo International, Niko Drakoulis. "Billy has helped shape the recent history of broadcast and cable television. Now, he'll help brand advertisers increase marketing effectiveness by integrating a dynamic category into the media mix—social television."
