Continued growth for KPN TV

Dutch incumbent telecoms operator KPN said the total number of its TV customers, IPTV and Digitenne, Continued to grow by 23% year-on-year to more than 1.1million at the end of Q3, 2010. This results in a 14% share of the total television market, compared with 12% at the end of Q3, 2009.
KPN said it had 899,000 subscribers to its digital terrestrial service Digitenne and 245,000 to its IPTV service. The operator claims a weekly growth of between 3,000 and 5,000 new IPTV subscribers. Of these, 50% are new broadband customers. 80% of them take triple play services.

At the end of Q3 2010, KPN had 32,000 FttH activated homes. Following the above results in fiber and TV, net line loss remained at a manageable level of 35,000 (compared to 45,000 in Q2 2010).
Through the Reggefiber joint-venture, further progress was made in Q3 2010 with the FttH roll-out. In Q3 the number of homes passed increased by 47,000 to 616,000 (Q2 2010: 569,000), of which 172,000 homes were activated.
