AT&T added 236,000 subscribers to its IPTV service 'U-verse TV' during the third quarter of this year, reaching a total of 2.7mn customers.
Furthermore, over three-quarters of U-verse TV subscribers now take a triple- or quad-play option from AT&T. Average revenue per user (ARPU) for U-verse triple-play customers was about US$ 160 in the third quarter of this year.
AT&T's U-verse deployment now reaches more than 26mn living units, and companywide penetration of eligible living units is 14.1%. Total video subscribers (which includes bundled satellite TV customers) stood at 4.7mn at the end of September.
Revenues from its U-verse services exceeded US$ 1bn in the third quarter of this year, with increased penetration of U-verse services driving a 30% growth in consumer IP revenues (which now represent 42.6% of AT&T's wireline consumer revenues). The company also saw a rebound in its broadband subscribers in the period, adding 148,000 new wireline broadband connections.
Consolidated revenues for the third quarter of this year were US$ 31.6bn, up 2.8% year-on-year, while operating income rose from US$ 5.4bn to US$ 5.5bn by the same comparison.
