The Polish incumbent telco was officially ruled itself out of the race to buy Aster, the country’s fourth largest cable operator.
The news was given by company spokesman Wojciech Jabczynski and reported in Rzeczpospolita.
Aster has been put up for sale by Mid Europa Partners, who have been the operator’s majority owners since 2006. Although few potential buyers have yet to officially throw their hats into the ring, they are believed to include Poland’s three largest cable operators – UPC Polska, Vectra and Multimedia Polska – Polkomtel and Sweden’s EQT V.
Aster currently has around 380,000 subscribers in Warsaw, Krak?w and Zielona G?ra.
