BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) America has made a pair of senior network distribution and promotions appointments.
Former MTV Networks exec Sandy Ashendorf will be VP of network distribution, responsible for overseeing affiliate sales and marketing initiatives in the US for BBCWW's channels and assets. She will report to BBCWW America's recently appointed chief operating officer Ann Sarnoff.
Sarnoff said: "Sandy has an impressive track record and wide experience in affiliate sales and is a great addition to our senior management."
Meanwhile, Matt Stein has been named VP of promotions and creative services at BBCWW's cable channel BBC America. A former development and on-air creative executive at VH1, Nick-At-Nite and Spike TV, Stein has also worked at A&E and Travel Channel.
Stein will report to Perry Simon, the newly appointed general manager of channels at BBCWW America. Based in New York, he will be responsible for setting the creative tone for BBC America's promotions and advertising across all platforms.
Sarnoff and Simon took up their positions last month, after being appointed by BBCWW America president Herb Scannell, who worked with both at Viacom. Sarnoff was executive VP of Nickelodeon's consumer products and business development arm and chief operating officer of VH1, while Simon was Viacom's president of productions.
