  • PBN showcases new optical platforms at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2010

Pacific Broadband Networks (PBN), an experienced technology company that enables cable operators to keep up with requirements for the new wave of cross-media connectivity, will exhibit at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2010. This year the exhibition is being held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, 20~22 October 2010. PBN will be located at booth 2233. During the show, PBN will showcase a number of new and exciting products that provide cable operators with the flexibility and capacity to expand bandwidth and extend broadband services to their customers. Wellknown in the industry for anticipating future requirements by focusing on optical technology, PBN offers scalable solutions that provide a logical migration path from HFC through to RFoG and FTTH networks.

    • Advanced optical communications mainframe (AOCM) for FTTx and xPON optical network architectures. The AOCM is a carrier-grade communications platform and is compliant with ATCA standards. Depending on the project size, it offers scalable options in 2RU, 5RU and 12RU. The AOCM is designed for high-density deployments with over 6000 subscribers per 12RU chassis. It is readily compatible with MSO back-office systems, has a CMTS management-like interface, provides Gigabit bandwidth per subscriber, and is ready for migration to 10G/100G next-generation networks.

    • Dense optical communications mainframe (DOCM) for HFC and RFoG optical network architectures. The DOCM is PBN’s third generation advanced communications platform for HFC and RFoG optical network architectures and is compliant with SCTE-HMS standards. The DOCM is designed for high density deployments with 30 standard transmitters or 60 QAM transmitters in one 4RU chassis. It is also available with up to 60 return path receivers and comes with intelligent automatic channel modulation levelling. The new platform features high sensitivity receivers that have been designed to support deep fibre and RFoG applications.

    • Deep fibre optical distribution node (ODND) The ODND is a prime building block for high performance networks, designed for adaptability and scalability with the ability of 2×2 full segmentation. The ODND employs advanced modular technology to provide a cost effective and flexible solution for expanding network architectures. The node is optioned to have a HMS capable transponder over DOCSIS for remote management.
