Zodiak Enterta…RDF MediaBroadcasting Zodiak Entertainment has confirmed plans to rebrand under a new group banner after its takeover of production company RDF Media.
In June, Paris-based Zodiak acquired Wife Swap producer RDF to form one of the largest TV production firms in the world.
The new enlarged company will now relaunch as Zodiak Media Group (ZMG), with RDF founder David Frank as its new chief executive.
The new company brings together a network of award-winning production and rights companies across Europe, the US, South America and Asia.
Frank plans to discontinue certain group brands - including RDF Media Group, Marathon Group, Magnolia Group and Zodiak Television Group - in favour of new Zodiak-designated regional and operational divisions
However, Marathon, Magnolia, RDF Television and others will live on as local and international production companies. More details on the firm's new divisional structure will be released shortly.
"The re-branding of the group and the move to a new divisional structure based on the Zodiak name will enable us to operate more effectively as a group and leverage greater value from the scale of our combined businesses and our geographical spread," said Frank.
"A strong Zodiak brand will assist our local companies. We want to think globally and deliver locally."
In further moves, RDF USA has merged with Zodiak Entertainment US to become Zodiak USA, while the former rights divisions of RDF and Zodiak have also merged to become Zodiak Rights.
Grant Mansfield will become chief executive of Zodiak USA, while Matthew Frank will head up Zodiak Rights.
