the Dutch service provider XMS, which delivers triple play services over FTTH networks, has said it will test a network PVR with 100 customers. At the same time, the operator is introducing a set-top box with a PVR.
XMS will start trialling the network PVR with a select number of customers, who will each be given 50 GB of space. If successful, the operator will roll out the service to its subscribers as early as this November.
At the same time, XMS will roll out its STB-PVR, the Amino A532 Compact PVR. The set comprises an HD tuner and 160 GB hard disk and will be offered for sale at €249.00. Existing customers can swap their regular STB for the PVR at a cost of €50.00.
XMS is one of the service providers offering TV, telephony and broadband access over FTTH networks alongside other providers. The TV services are centrally delivered by Glashart Media. The EPG of the service has been developed by Hilversum based specialist Stoneroos.
