Slovakia will shortly see the launch of a new sports channel.
According to Zive, Slovak Sport TV will begin trials on cable networks at the end of this month, with a view to making its full debut in June, with distributors being able to choose either a HD or SD version of the service.
Slovak Sport TV will be on air for 24 hours daily and is likely to be distributed from the Astra 23.5 degrees East orbital slot.
A sister channel of Central TV, it should fill a void in the market created by the closure of the public broadcaster’s third channel STV3, which focussed on sports coverage.
