Freeview has today announced the launch of an online reviews service to guide consumers looking to buy Freeview products this Christmas.
The UK's largest digital TV platform has refreshed its website to include reviews of standard and high definition Freeview set top boxes, along with Freeview+ personal video recorders (PVRs).
The review service is designed to help consumers search for Freeview products based on categories such as price, brand and recording time.
It also indicates which products have received the best industry reviews and features links to retailers such as Tesco and Amazon for purchasing the equipment.
Standard Freeview set top boxes now retail from just £18, while Freeview HD boxes - capable of receiving BBC HD, BBC One HD, ITV1 HD and Channel 4 HD - are available from around £90.
Freeview + boxes, capable of pausing, rewinding and recording live television, can be purchased from just £75, while Freeview+ HD receivers start from around £215.
Last month, Freeview announced that UK sales of Freeview-enabled TVs, set top boxes and PVRs have passed 60 million units since the service launch in March 2002.
