Quoting its general director Mamuka Tskitishvili, Media.ge and Satkurier report that the service, operated by Black Sea Sat, will initially carry only Georgian channels, including those from GMG.
He added that talks would also take place with Channel 9 over its distribution on the platform.
Black Sea Sat was established in March 2011 and is majority (70%) owned by the Black Sea Group, with the remaining shares being held by Giorgi Abuashvili (10%).
Tamar Grszelishvili (10%), Levan Giorgadze (5%) and Mamuka Tskitishvili (5%).
In turn, Black Sea Group is owned by Black Sea Road (70%) and Giorgi Kalandadze (25%), with the latter also owning 50% of Black Sea Road.
Further details about the new platform will be released next month.
Georgia is already served by a DTH service named TV Matgisat. Launched this January, it is operated by the telco Magti and distributed by Astra.
