Ireland has now officially launched its digital-terrestrial TV platform, giving access to DTT services to about 90% of the country’s population.
The digital platform currently offers simulcasts of public channels RT? One and RT? Two, commercial channel TV3 and Irish-language channel TG4. Saorview, the Irish version of the UK’s Freeview, will be launched next year ahead of a planned digital switchover at the end of 2012.
