Motorola presented in Argentina its new MotoTV cell phone fitted with ISDB-T tuner that captures digital TV channels. It is the first device of the kind launched by the company in this country. The terminal is fitted with a 3.2 inches touchscreen, one of the biggest in the market. Telephony operators that will commercialize the device have not been defined yet.
MotoTV offers up to 640x480 video capture resolution, and the option to see programming in portrait or landscape mode. It also includes a 3 MP camera to take photographs and record videos and surf in the Internet. Its battery bears up to 250 minutes in call time and up to 250 in idle time. The device also offers MP3 player and Bluetooth 2.1.
By just pressing the play button, the device plays a video with the last seconds broadcasted on TV. Images are automatically saved in its internal 50MB memory or the 2 GB card, expandible up to 32 GB. Moreover, it incorporates three customizable screens with widgets and links to the most popular social networks, such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and YouTube. However, the aforementioned features will depend on the telephony operator.
"MotoTV enables users to see their digital TV programs wherever they may be, adding advanced multimedia, entertainment and communication functionalities", pointed out Germ?n Greco, Motorola Mobility Mobile Devices Direcotr. The company announced that the launching of this device jointly with another one called MotoKey, which bears two SIM cards in the same device. Therefore, "Motorola widens its alternative portfolio available in the country, reaching increasingly different user profiles".
