Dutch cable operator Ziggo reported it had reached 1,045,000 triple play customers, up from 859,000 last year (+21.7%) at the end of September, 2010. During the third quarter, there were 61,000 new triple play customers.
The total number of homes served showed a continuation of the downward trend, from 3.18 million last year to 3.1 million. The total nuber of homes taking analogue only was 1,368,000 (down 357.000 or minus 20.7%). The number of homes taking both analogue and digital went up 19%, from 1,455,000 to 1,732,000. Of these, 851.000 homes take extended tiers or premium channels (up 132.000).
The number of broadband customers was 1,518,000 (+6.8%) and 1,117,000 for cable telephony (+17.7%).
Financial highlights. Ziggo reported total revenue of € 1,019.0 million, up 7% versus prior year. Adjusted EBITDA of € 586.8 million, up 13% versus prior year. Free cash flow of € 432.4 million, up 42% versus prior year. Net Debt to adjusted EBITDA leverage ratio down to 4.69x as of September 30, 2010 vs. 5.39x at December 31, 2009.
Bernard Dijkhuizen, Ziggo CEO , in a statement: “We continue to focus strongly on further improving our service levels and customer satisfaction. Major steps have been made, but we want to keep improving and achieve our goal of providing the best customer service in the industry. This will support continued subscriber additions and revenue growth”.
