Cable operator UPC Austria is giving free HD set-tops to new lower-tier digital subscribers as part of a promotional initiative set to run to the end of the year.
New FIT and Super FIT digital subscribers that sign up before December 31 will now receive a free HD MediaBox. Top-tier Top FIT subscribers will continue to receive a free HD DVR as part of their subscription package.
UPC Austria currently offers about 10 HD channels plus video-on-demand.
