The AutoBackup plugin
Quote: The basic function is to provide backups, automatically made in the background, allowing users to flash at any moment and to find their system complete up & working in a couple of minutes after flashing. The functionality is great: once the settings are correctly made, after flashing a box all settings are there again (of course: that could also be done by the standard E2-backup function) and all previously installed plugins are installed automatically. The plugin can be set to run daily. The backup is located in a folder named "backup", and contains 3 files: "PLi-AutoBackup.tar.gz" contains the settings, "autoinstall" contains a list of all installed plugins and the existence of the file ".timestamp" tells the autorestore function to apply the settings. The files can also be used via telnetcommands once the system is up & running: "/etc/init.d/settings-restore.sh" restores all the settings (of course E2 must not be running when this command is used), and "/etc/init.d/autoinstall.sh" installs all the plugins that are in the "AutoInstall"-file. The file "installed" located in /etc contains all the plugins that are on the system. Adapting the settings of the plugin to personal wishes requires editing two files: a- the file "autoinstall" located in /etc can be used for removing standard plugins from the image and to provide a local plugin-location (example attached) b- the file "backup.cfg" located in /etc can be used to add/change files to be backupped (example attached).
