Nagravision Provides Content Protection Solutions to Taiwanese Broadcaster

Kudelski Group value-added content protection solutions subsidiary Nagravision was selected to secure the roll-out of advanced digital services for Hsin Yeong An Cable TV (HYA) in Taiwan, Nagravision announced Oct. 18.
HYA, with more than 200,000 subscriber households, delivers analog TV services and cable modem broadband service to its subscribers. The Broadcaster is in the process of digitizing its network by 2011, and Nagravision’s Media Access conditional access solution will enhance HYA’s offering and provide DTV services, including HD content, interactive applications, time-shifted TV and PVR.
Nagravision’s DTV infrastructure also will allow the operator to add more advanced services over time, HYA General Manager Lai Guan Ling said in a statement. “This new rollout is a major milestone in our offering, allowing us to add key services that viewers have now come to expect in television.”
Nagravision already offers security solutions to three other cable operators in Taiwan, including China Network Systems, Kbro and TBC.
