The leader of the Mexican Sub Secretary of Economy, Bruno Ferrari, informed that the aforementioned agency was waiting for the approval of the budget to be assigned to support, by means of subsidies, the purchase of DTT STBs. According to the officer, the objective is to "make the purchase of devices easier for Mexican families". However, neither the total amount for such project nor the way economic aid will be granted to beneficiaries have been defined yet.

"It is clear that we will be the vehicle that will enable STBs to be accessible for evyrone who has an analog TV set, we are not sure about the final outcome, but we need to start next year", Ferrari stated.
Moreover, the executive explained that the Official Mexican Norm will be modified in virtue of the commercialization of electronic, electrical and home appliances so that the leyend reads "suitable for digital TV broadcastings under ATSC standard".
