Deutsche Welle, Germany’s international broadcaster, has now made its successful lifestyle magazine euromaxx available in Chinese for its viewers in Asia and has been broadcasting this regionalized version on Xinya Azio since August. The Chinese version of euromaxx is the result of a partnership with Singapore-based Xinya and DW-TV. Xinya Azio is a pay-TV channel that is available in 15 Asian countries and plans on reaching approximately 1.2 billion Mandarin-speaking viewers.
“We know that regionalization is key for future developments and our new Chinese version of the hit show euromaxx is proof of our efforts,” says Petra Schneider, Head of Distribution at Deutsche Welle. “Based on this successful project, we will consider producing regionalized versions of other shows like Drive It! – and we have already been contacted by interested production partners in Asia.”
Deutsche Welle and Xinya have already produced 26 episodes of euromaxx in Mandarin which will be aired over the next six months. The Chinese version is hosted by Stephanie Bao. The typical look and feel of the show has remained unchanged. euromaxx can be seen on Xinya every Saturday at 6:30 pm (GMT +8).
