Telekom Srbija has placed a second order with Swedish firm Tilgin for its national Fibre-to-the-x (FTTx) roll-out of remotely-managed IP services across Serbia.
The new win is based on a strategic order announced in 2009, and involves the provision by Tilgin of 2,600 customer HG1300 Home Gateway units, as well as Tilgin's HGA software, an extended remote management software licence, and full support. The order was placed via Tilgin's partner and systems integrator Saga Beograd.
“Telekom Srbija's system has delivered state of the art triple-play solutions, being the first FTTB/FTTH deployment in Serbia,” said Radmilo Djordjevic, Deputy Executive Director at Saga. “Tilgin is in a good position in the Eastern European countries. Through a series of important wins they have generated visibility for their solutions and their expertise."
Tilgin has separately confirmed that it has also won an initial order from a "large" systems integrator in South Eastern Europe, destined for a new customer to Tilgin, which is described as a leading operator in the region, and which plans to deploy a national fibre access network of remotely managed IP-based services. The initial order is believed to be worth approximately SEK 3mn (US$ 457,000).
